Legacy Home Builders will build (or renovate) the mountain home you’ve always dreamed of owning—and our process will make it an easy, enjoyable experience for you.

Step 1 – Discovery

Our job is not to end up with the house we want. It’s to give you the home you want. We’ll start with a sit-down discovery meeting to understand your:

• Vision, wants and needs
• Budget
• Property location

At this meeting, we’ll form the foundation of our working relationship. Many of our clients see us only three or four times between this meeting and the completion of their home, so it’s critical that we establish a high level of trust, open communication and understanding from the very start.

Step 2 – Planning, design, budgeting

Next we’ll take plans you have furnished or begin the design process to create the plans. This will include making sure that the final plans fit your budget and goals.

This step will include a very important element—your land and the placement of your home. It is critical for us to have your home set properly on the property so that solar gain is correct to reduce energy consumed on heating and cooling. In addition, Legacy is highly experienced in meeting the unique challenges and placement requirements to build successfully in the mountainous terrain of Western North Carolina. We’ll put that expertise to work for you at this stage of the project.

Step 3 – Contract and build

Then we’ll sign the contract and start building. You’ll sign off on the site placement, confirming decisions such as where the driveway and elevations come in, making sure we’re providing precisely what you want.

Once we get the home dried in—the outside walls and roof completed—we’ll walk through with you to confirm the plans for interior walls and complete any change orders you desire.

We’ll work with all the team members—electricians, HVAC technicians, paint contractors, interior designers, and anyone else on the job from your side or ours—to ensure the home is finished to your exact specifications.

Every step of the way our invoices will be prompt, accurate, and easy to read and understand.

Step 4 – Welcome home!

At last, we’ll present you with your new or renovated mountain home—the most rewarding part of the process—and ensure that you are completely satisfied.
